I just had to tell this story

Tonight had been spent on reading about Andy Warhol, SOVA, SOVA, and more SOVA, and the readings that I did reminded myself of what I wanted to be when I was just a small kid. Yes, an artist. I have always wanted to be an artist. I have told everyone; my family, friends, teachers, and anyone who saw my works. I started drawing when I was 5 years old, kind of inspired by my brother, who draws too, and my dad, who helped us win art competitions with his drawings. And the joke is, when i screwed up my PSLE big time because of art, when i drew coconut trees(after seeing my dad drew them) in my files, textbooks and whatnots.

This came straight from the heart. Although I knew since the very beginning that becoming an artist is not easy especially in Singapore, I wanted to go for it. Everywhere i went, there must be art, if not, I won't be interested. Even in my secondary school days, art was a subject offered in the last class in normal academic in my school-the thought of being in the last class was shitty, but then i still went for it, for art.

From primary 1, all the way to sec2, i admit, that my works weren't that good. I only drew bats, birds, houses, the sea, trees, and my mum's portrait every time i grab a piece of paper. With a blunt pencil, i would draw the things around me. I remembered the first ever piece of shaded 3D drawing that i did was a picture of an octopus, which i did for my sec 1 final year exam, which i got a C if i'm not wrong. From that moment, the ego grew, and I wanted to become an even better painter and that's all i ever wanted to do(you should know better by now).

Now as i'm typing, just two days after the submission of my A levels' coursework, i knew i gave my all for this theme, but as usual, there must be some pitfalls in them. Whatever the outcome is, I'm just leaving everything to God and hope that He will reward us all for all the hard work that we have put in, in par with how much we've done of course. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who have lifted me up till the level that i am at right now, and especially my God, for giving me this very precious gift.
